Osteoporosis Diagnostics
The O-Scan is an ultrasound measuring system for diagnosing osteoporosis.
The examination is simple and takes only 30 seconds. The Proxima O-Scan furnishes
reliable data for each patient. Due to its progressive technology, variations in
the examination results can be precluded. The connection of the sensors to the
patient takes place automatically; the analyses are unambiguous, precise, and
easy to interpret.
The O-Scan carries out a measurement of the calcaneus (heel). Numerous clinical
studies have shown that the bone density at the heel is indicative of a prognoses
of hip fractures. The ultrasonometry of the calcanues, therefore, is an economic
and reliable alternative to the expensive and invasive examinations by way of
X-rays. The O-Scan allows to determine the bone density and structure within
1 minute without undue stress to the patient.
O-Scan advantages
The simple handling and the good price/benefit-ratio of the O-Scan admits for the
system to be used in private practices, clinics, and hospitals. The O-Scan ultrasound
measuring system is ideally suited for examinations of pregnant women.
